Includes
In-clinic consultation with a clinician to discuss Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT) for perimenopause or menopause.
What happens after you book
You’ll be asked to complete a short medical questionnaire before your visit, so that our clinician can personalise your consultation based on your symptoms, preferences, and medical history.
Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT) (also known as Hormone Replacement Therapy, or HRT) is used to relieve symptoms caused by the drop in estrogen during perimenopause and menopause. It typically involves estrogen, and sometimes progesterone is added to protect the womb lining. Prices for MHT start at $68 / month.
What symptoms can it help with?
MHT can be especially effective for:
What types of MHT are there?
There are two main types:
1. Systemic MHT - Used to treat full-body symptoms like hot flashes, sleep issues, and mood changes.
If you still have a uterus, you’ll also need to take progesterone to protect the womb lining. This can be taken as a pill, or in some cases, delivered via an IUD / IUCD.
2. Local (vaginal) estrogen
What works best depends on your symptoms, preferences, and medical history — and your plan can be adjusted over time.
Is it safe?
For most healthy women under 60, or within 10 years of menopause, MHT is considered safe and often beneficial. It can help protect against bone loss, and when started early, may also lower the risk of heart disease.
That said, MHT isn’t suitable for everyone. Your doctor will consider your personal and family history — including any risks for cancer or blood clots — before recommending a plan.
Do I need it?
Not necessarily. Some women manage well with lifestyle changes or non-hormonal options. But if your symptoms are affecting your quality of life — or if you’re at risk of conditions like osteoporosis — MHT may be worth considering.
Do I have to take it forever?
No. MHT isn’t meant to be lifelong. Most women take it for a few years to manage symptoms during the transition, then gradually taper off.
Others may continue longer, often with lower doses or more targeted forms of HRT, if they’re still benefiting or have ongoing risk factors like bone loss. Your doctor will help review this regularly and adjust your care plan as your needs change.
If you’re unsure whether it’s right for you, the most important step is having a clear, informed conversation with a doctor who understands both the science and your personal goals.
